Hispanic Scholarship Fund Awards College Scholarships

November 10, 2011 Category: College Scholarships and Grants

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is an organization which promotes higher education for Hispanics.  It addresses the barriers which may keep many Latinos from receiving a college degree.  Not only does it provide scholarships to Hispanic students who have worked hard, but it also incorporates outreach and educational programs to help them and their families through the difficulties and unexpectedness of college life.

HSF Initiatives

By helping Hispanics to earn a college degree, HSF believes it will strengthen America and have developed initiatives to do just that.

The first is “Generation 1st Degree,” which ensures that every Hispanic household will have at least one college graduate.  Increasing the number of Americans with college degrees can only help US competitiveness.  Hispanic Americans play a vital role in reaching this goal.Hispanic Scholarship Fund

Your Words Today Campaign” focuses on Hispanic parents.  HSF partnered with the Ad Council to produce bilingual public service announcements to engage parents in taking an active role in their children’s education, thus encouraging them to go to college.  It also provides resources and information to parents and families about preparing and paying for college.
