The College of Education at UT-Austin prepares its students for an array of careers, from teachers to movement scientists. There are seven academic departments within the college, including Foreign Language, Curriculum & Instruction, and Kinesiology and Health Education.

The College of Education spends among the highest amounts on research of schools across the country, and faculty and students are often heavily involved in projects through school centers like the Texas Child Center and the Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk. The school also gets involved in unique projects like the Study of High School Restructuring, which divides Houston-area high schools into smaller, theme-based institutions, and the Stupski Project, which aims to close education gaps across the country.

In addition to campus projects, students can join about 10 organizations, including Teachers of Tomorrow and the Student Council for Exceptional Children. In an effort to make technology an inherent part of education, all students enrolled in teacher certification programs must have their own laptops. In their free time, graduate students in the College of Education can explore downtown Austin, several blocks away from the Education building.
