Off campus, CSU East Bay students can travel to the theaters, shopping centers, museums, and restaurants of San Francisco in minutes, as well as to the Pacific Ocean in about an hour. Notable California State University—East Bay alumni include comedy writer J.R. Havlan, who has won numerous Emmy Awards for his work on The Daily Show.
